“他们对英语学习已经失去了信心和兴趣，形成了恶性循环。新学的东西由于自己的基础不好，听不懂。导致不会的东西越积累越多，从而打击了自己的学习兴趣和动力。但高考中重要科目英语成绩的每一分都左右着学生的命运，所以如何快速提升英语成绩，如何程度开发学生学习英语的潜能，就成为最关键的问题”。长春新东方学校VIP高中英语教师兼负责人熊淑梅介绍说，要想解决问题，必须依靠这个特殊阶段的外力因素来推动学生自身的潜能迸发。

新东方在提升“潜能生”成绩这个课题上下了很多苦功，要想孩子在高考中取得满意成绩，家长和老师必须要帮助学生走过以下四个阶段：第一阶段夯实基础，树立信心;第二阶计划学习，厚积薄发;第三阶段查漏补缺，高考点睛。

首先要与学生建立一种信赖关系，树立沟通渠道，让学生去喜欢自己的老师，乐意与老师去沟通，学习遇到困难想到去找老师帮助，成绩提高后的快乐也乐意跟老师去分享。”熊淑梅说道。“那么建立这样的关系也非一朝一夕，辅导孩子的老师必须每天与学生尽可能的多沟通，即使在学习之外也要给学生发信息，保持联系，随时关注学生，关注的就不仅仅是作业和学习成绩，更多的是鼓励和树立信心。家长在此时应该多给予孩子生活上的关怀，消除与孩子间的代沟，让孩子保持乐观向上的心态。老师与家长双管齐下，给孩子多方面的交流。这样的情感投资能够促进孩子学习的积极性，得到鼓励和关怀的学生很容易树立学习的信心和兴趣，把学习当成生活中愉快的事，并在进步中找到快乐。”

其次，老师和家长要针对孩子的学习情况做出针对的计划性方案，包括孩子的每次英语成绩，考试中每一项目的成绩变化以及日常作业完成情况。除此以外，要把握老师、家长与学生的关系情况，每一样都做好记录，从根本改变学生的学习心态，摸透孩子的缺漏，从而让学生按计划一步步的稳固提升，最终在高考时取得佳绩。
